Update on International Counterfeit Standards

Jo Vann [GE Aviation]

Abstract:

This talk will focus on the IEC Technical Committee 107 activities relating to electronic component management plans. ECMP IEC 62239-1 includes embedded requirements such as life-limited semiconductors, counterfeit avoidance, obsolescence management, lead-free management, atmospheric radiation, and COTS assembly units. This management plan is needed to meet FAA and EASA certification requirements. Under the component application section of the document, lead-free and counterfeit avoidance management plans are covered. IEC 62668 document covers counterfeit avoidance and managing electronic components from non-franchised sources. The audit schemes will also be presented.
