HKEIA Visits CALCE and Local Industry

A delegation team from the The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA) visited with CALCE students and staff during their visit to the U.S. CALCE arranged the HKEIA representatives U.S. tour, which included meetings with University of Maryland officials and visits to industry facilities along the east and west coasts.

The team, comprised of four delegates; Dr. H.L.Yiu, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Prof. Winco K.C. Yung, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, , Ms. Jan Yeung, The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association, and Dr. Wong Yiu Man, The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers; toured the east and west coasts to learn the latest technological developments in electronics and manufacturing fields, explore opportunities of partnership with U.S. tech companies, and exchange ideas and collaborate with professors and research staff at CALCE and the University of Maryland.

During their visit, Dr. H.L. Yiu gave a presentation to CALCE students and staff about the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, which aims to revitalize, modernize and promote industrial growth and scientific innovation and advanced manufacturing.

Following the morning’s presentation and student introductions, the team met with members of CALCE research staff for laboratory tours and to discuss future collaborations.
