Dr. Yongrae Jang joins CALCE as a Postdoctoral Researcher
Dr. Yongrae Jang has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Convergence Engineering and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea. He is a distinguished author with more than 12 Research papers published in journals with high-impact factors. He holds more than 15 patents in his accomplishments.
One of his papers, "Intensive plasmonic flash light sintering of copper nano-inks using a band-pass light for highly electrically conductive electrodes in printed electronics" was published in a prestigious journal ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, which currently has an impact factor of 8.758.
Dr. Yongrae Jang along with Hak-Sung Kim, Chung-Hyeon Ryu, and Ji-Hyeon Chu patented the “Flashlight sintered copper precursor, its manufacturing method, and its flash light sintering method ” in 2020, which is internationally recognized.
During his visit to UMD as a visiting scholar with Prof. Han, collaborative research will be conducted in the area of Solder joint reliability. He will work in the Laboratory of Optomechanics and Micro/Nano Semiconductor/Photonics Systems along with Prof.Han.
His research area includes
- Characterization of solder material.
- Semiconductor Packaging reliability.
- Computational simulations (ANSYS/COMSOL).
- Printed electronics for Flexible/Wearable devices.
- Intense Pulsed Light sintering/annealing.
- Metal/Semiconductor Nano-inks for TFTs.
