Secure Electronics Manufacturing for Counterfeit Detection and Tampering Prevention

Sean Bouskila [Cybord]

Abstract:

The integrity of electronic components and PCB assemblies is increasingly threatened by sophisticated hardware-based cyberattacks, counterfeit components, and unauthorized modifications. Traditional anti-counterfeiting measures, such as supply chain documentation, sample-based testing, and regulatory compliance, fail to provide real-time, full-coverage verification, leaving critical security gaps. The risk to the supply chain necessitates the adoption of proactive strategies, similar to those long established in software cybersecurity, yet largely absent in hardware security and supply chain protection.
