Jim Creiman [SAE G-19]

Jim Creiman serves as Co-chair of the SAE G-19 and G-21 technical committees, which are responsible for aerospace standards related to counterfeit prevention. Jim recently retired from the aerospace and defense industry after over 35 years of engineering and management experience in electronic systems integration, semiconductor fabrication, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in statistics from Virginia Tech and a Master of Manufacturing Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University. Jim and his wife enjoy traveling, especially with their two young adult children, and they have a keen interest in counterfeit avoidance in mobility systems.

Presentation Abstract

SAE Committees continue to create and refine counterfeit prevention standards to address the evolving threat environment. Updated standards are in process for electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) part integrators, authorized distributors, and independent distributors. Two new standards specific to bearings and batteries are nearing publication. SAE is also initiating a revision to the primary counterfeit prevention aerospace standard for non-EEE materiel; AS6174.

This presentation will summarize current SAE counterfeit prevention standards activities and provide a forecast of future efforts.
