Presentation Abstract

Recently, an industry suspect counterfeit report was issued on a JANTX part that was delivered from an independent distributor who was identified in five previous suspect counterfeit reports. An effective supplier management program would have prevented this transaction from occurring. When vetting suppliers, what controls would ensure that your organization does not purchase, sell or install counterfeit or nonconforming components? The criteria must be defined before working with a supplier and is essential to managing the risk of purchasing electronic parts from non-authorized sources. This presentation will discuss best practices in supplier assessment, monitoring and management.
