CALCE is pleased to announce the addition of several new members to its research community. Their diverse academic backgrounds and professional experiences reflect the broad opportunities that CALCE offers for students at all levels, scholars, and visiting researchers.

Lucas Dietz

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Contributing to studies on Electronic Assembly Storage, Mechanical Engineering Senior Lucas is gaining hands-on experience in reliability research while expanding his technical foundation. He has been a recipient of the IEEE EPS student scholarship and is currently doing an independent research course with Dr. Diganta Das.

Selina Pister

Intern (Germany)

Currently in her 5th semester of Medical Engineering at the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim, Selina is completing a semester abroad at CALCE. She is working in Dr. Diganta Das’s research team with a focus on semiconductor devices.

Shohreh Soltani

PhD Student

Pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, Shohreh focuses on electronics reliability by combining failure-physics modeling, life-cycle stress analysis, and data-driven statistics. At CALCE, her research develops practical reliability-prediction tools for electronics and designs Reliability Demonstration Tests with FIT estimation methods to set actionable thresholds.

These new members further strengthen CALCE’s research community and reflect its commitment to fostering talent across all academic levels. Their contributions will support CALCE’s ongoing leadership in advancing reliability and life cycle engineering for both academic and industry partners.

For opportunities at CALCE, contact Dr. Diganta Das.
