The Annual Symposium on Counterfeit Parts and Materials, 2022
June 28- 30, 2022
The symposium was organized by CALCE jointly along with SMTA at College Park, MD, USA. The symposium, exhibition, and professional development courses brought people from 25 states in the United States and several countries, including the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Israel.
The symposium was chaired by Dr. Diganta Das and held in 8 informative and interactive sessions over two days. Each session agenda deliberately curated talks by eminent leaders from industry, government, and academia. The sessions included Counterfeiting - the Current State of Play, Supply Chain Evolution, Secure and Trusted Ecosystem, Track and Trace Point Solutions, Counterfeit Detection Tools and Methods.
The symposium provided relevant information about state-of-the-art and recent advancements in industry and academia to students and working professionals. The interaction of the audience and speakers enhanced the talks and helped set the stage for future research and developments.
The last day of the event included two professional development courses. The first course titled "The Crucial Role of Traceability In The Secure, Smart Supply-Chain" was instructed by Michael Ford (Aegis Software) and Cameron Shearon (Raytheon Technologies). The second course titled "Counterfeit Parts Detection Using SAE AS6171" was instructed by Dr. Michael Azarian, CALCE, University of Maryland. These were attended by more than fifty people from government and industry, and they rated the courses highly.
The Symposium Proceedings are now available to all attendees and CALCE Consortium members.
