The Counterfeit Parts and Materials Symposium, organized by CALCE and SMTA, took place from June 25-27 in College Park. The event attracted a broad cross-section of government, industry, business, and academia for two days of informative presentations and exchanges. The technical exhibition included technology demonstrations, tools, and services for the industry.

There were more than twenty talks covering policies, tools, and technologies in eight sessions. The sessions included the current state of affairs, supply chain, counterfeit detection tools, standards to support counterfeit avoidance, applications of machine learning and AI, and legal and policy issues. The symposium also featured Professional Development Courses taught by Dr. Diganta Das and Dr. Michael Azarian.

The participants came from five countries and twenty-four US states. All branches of the US military, its technical and administrative organizations, national laboratories, authorized and independent distributors, semiconductor manufacturers, technology companies, test laboratories, think tanks, and universities were among the participants.

The planning for the counterfeit-related events for 2025 will begin soon. Please keep an eye on the CALCE and SMTA web pages and mailers/social posts from us for updated information and announcements.
