Judith Ritchie Discusses "SAE Standards on Counterfeiting: a 2020 View" at the Symposium on Counterfeit Parts and Materials
Bio: Judith has over 30 years of experience in the Transportation field with expertise in aviation, aerospace and security. Currently, she leads the operations of SAE International’s aerospace standards activities in the Washington DC office by supporting the identification, development and promotion of aerospace standards, certification programs and cooperative research initiatives.
Judith works closely with government and industry stakeholders to support the development of industry standards in new technical areas and leads on SAE’s Aerospace Counterfeit and Cyber Security activities.
Before joining SAE International in January 2017, Judith worked at the UK Department for Transport in London. During her government career Judith was the Head of International Aviation Security and Head of International Aviation Relations and Strategy. She was also the First Secretary, Transport Policy at the British Embassy in Washington DC from 2009-2014.
Abstract: In response to the continually evolving, significant, and increasing risk of counterfeit parts entering the global aerospace supply chain SAE International was chartered in 2007 to develop Aerospace Standards to address aspects of preventing, detecting, responding to and counteracting the threat of counterfeit components. This presentation will give an overview of the suite of anti-counterfeit Standards that have been published and are under development.
