Ian Blackman [Elan Business Support ]
Ian Blackman is a professional with a rich and diverse career spanning over four decades. Currently part of the Volunteer Staff at RAF Manston History Museum, he actively supports events and promotional activities. Concurrently, Ian serves as the Managing Director of Elan Business Support, managing contracts, referrals, and various projects in engineering and procurement. His extensive involvement in the industry includes owning and partnering with the Anticounterfeiting Forum facilitating expert networking and training events to combat counterfeits in the electronic and electrical supply chains.
Ian's leadership extends to the Electronic Component Supply Network, where he is an Executive Leadership Group and EOL/ReuSE Leader. Additionally, as a Consultant for Solid State Disks Ltd, he supports business development and marketing activities. Ian's commitment to the field is evident in his roles as Chief Technical Officer and Non-Executive Board Member for the International Institute of Obsolescence Management (IIOM), where he actively contributes to governance, marketing, and event management. His industry involvement also includes leadership roles in ESCO Electronic Component Supply Network, Component Obsolescence Group International Limited, and the EPSRC Through-Life Engineering Services Initiative. Notably, Ian's career began at BAE Systems, Inc., where he held various roles, including Procurement Manager, Component Engineering Manager, and Obsolescence Strategy Manager. Throughout his career, Ian has honed skills in negotiation, project management, risk management, team leadership, mentoring, technical training, public speaking, and more.
